10,000 goodbyes

 

Death is sudden. An abrupt loss and then, the end.  

But with this disease,  I say goodbye with every loss of “her”.    

I am saying 10,000 goodbyes as she recedes bit by bit from who she was.

Frankly, an abrupt end would be a breeze to  endure.
